Karl, Thank you so much, the heatpipe cooling fins of my VAIO were very clogged, the fan was on high speed all the time. Sometimes it boots but most of the time I get the blue screen right away. Remove both memory modules spread latches on both side of the slot and carefully pull the module out. vgn-fz20u

Jason, Is it required to remove the screen and keyboard to remove the back cover? Remove two screws securing the DVD drive.

It seems like replacing the motherboard is out of the question, as it would be too expensive. Thank God it was a brushless fan, lol.
